Sophie on your acceptance to study a Bachelor of Music (flute) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music next year. Sophie's achievements are immense and just like many of you she was once a beginner getting started learning her first notes! Sophie has been a part of many amazing things over the years thanks to her flute studies including being selected to participate in workshops with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Australian World Orchestra and the Staatskapelle Berlin to name but a few. Sophie is currently the Principal flute in the NSW Regional Youth Orchestra and is an stunning musician and I feel very priveledged to be her teacher. Congratulations again to Sophie on this incredible achievement!

Lockdown Flute Ensemble, Term 3 2021! Congratulations to all involved! We hope this makes you smile. This term some of my 1-1 students from the Central Coast (NSW, Australia) worked on parts of a public domain flute ensemble piece from flute tunes and recorded themselves playing their parts. The more advanced students recorded all the parts and newer students recorded anywhere from a few notes to a group of bars, a section or a single part. In the end 34 students got involved in some way. It was also very exciting to have 5 of my amazing colleagues and friends join us ensuring the presence of both Alto and Bass flutes in our sound! The images are provided by students (and teachers) involved and represent things that have brought us joy during the current extended full lockdown. Thanks to the Central Coast Conservatorium for lending us space on their YouTube Channel so we could share this with you.
